In September 1953 it was decided by Baseball Officials that the St. Louis Browns would move to Baltimore.

Shortly after, the team became the Baltimore Orioles. Over the years the BalitmoreBaltimore Sports Orioles team has hosted baseball greats such as Cal Ripken Jr., the record holder for most consecutive games played. The atmosphere of a night baseball game at the terrific Oriole Park at Camden Yards is simply amazing. The Baltimore Ravens Football Team is one of the newest teams in the National Football League. At M&T Bank Stadium, home of the Ravens, the team put in their best effort for every game. In 2001, it was the first time in 30 years that a Baltimore team had won American football's top prize. And what made the success even sweeter was that the victory over the big city East Coast rivals, the New York Giants. The other teams that call Baltimore their home are Baltimore Blast - Major Indoor Soccer League, and 2005-2006 ABA Expansion Team.
